This donut from yellow dendrite opal is times somewhat completely different one, because he has a matte gloss and inclusions, which look like plants. The color is creme. Generally this mineral is defined as a crude kind of opal. The structure is singular with each piece of jewellery. Often this dendrite opal is called also dendrite agate. So this mineral has two trade names.
Since donuts hang always somewhat diagonally on a silver chain on the neck, a leather ribbon is recommended with the stone disks, since one can attach this with simple technology perfectly to the piece of jewellery. Already our ancestors carried such perforated disks from stone or bone as status symbol and above all naturally as decoration at the body. Amber was with the wikings a popular currency, the so-called wiking-money. Those are small donuts or disks with a hole in the center. We have these articles by the way also in our shop under the category “amber decoration”. Diameter: 28 mm.
