Selenite, or fiber plaster also has a high Lichtleitfaehigkeit.
This means: for large straight pieces this stone works like a kind of glass fiber.
You can look up and see what lies in front of the other end of the stone.
Of course, this ball-shape does not work, but these spheres have a similar light-breaking effect as tigereye, that is, a reflection of the light from the tip to the "end" of the stone-sphere when you move it.
The balls of white selenite stone are ground by hand and therefore not 100% round, but this is barely visible to the naked eye.
