Not round but very nicely rounded pearls, this is often done with beautiful turquoise to save material. The turquoise stones would be too small to get large, completely round pearls, but only slightly rounded in their natural form, they are nice and large for a turquoise chain.

Turquoise pearls are always stabilized, so naturally only polished instead of oiled with a stronger material that closes the pores better, so the turquoise breaks less. This is always done with turquoise beads or natural turquoise jewelry, otherwise natural turquoise would be too crumbly. The stone itself is otherwise untreated, not colored and not heated.
